GOA DIARIES #travelogue

22nd of feb 2016, we started from Indira Gandhi International airport  New Delhi . We boarded Air Asia flight to Dabolim airport Goa . By the time we reached Goa, the sun had started descending to horizon .

*day1

It was 5pm ,we were accommodated to the apartment in vasco , south goa by our driver . Post 20 minutes we were driven to the calangute beach in north goa where we had some hi tea snacks at tipsy shack located at beach side. Walking through the beach market We rented a car for 5 days, it was a silver Thar and soon we forwarded to LPK love-passion-karma most heard about clubbing spots in north goa.

LPK had a waterfront candlelight dinning along With perfect party music at the adjacent disco.
After spending time at LPK we forwarded to the Jazz corner , at Candolim road . It was fun , they had karaoke and good food too finally! Not to satisfy my North Indian taste buds but better than the one at calangute beach.

                         JAZZ CORNER candolim road

*day 2

Second day's destination was Palolem beach, 61 kilometres from our sojourn apartment. We drove using the navigation , ( prerequisites of technology 😉 ) .Travel can be a blase when everything related to it falls in place , google maps was a big time savior . The way to beach was a picturesque tale. We couldn't stop ourselves to layover and enjoy the beautiful scenes .

After 1 hour 53 minutes we reached the palolem beach. It became my favorite spot amid the entire trip. The pale white sand, uninterrupted sea and chrome sunset , it makes me go into a reverie each time i think of it .

Moving on , we then forwarded to the anjuna beach another 88 kilometers drive through kochi-panvel highway. In the southern part of anjuna beach two places attract the crowds of trans-music public. Curlie's and shiva valley night clubs ,located near anjuna flea market . These are night life centres & the psychedelic hubs of the indian ocean coastline. i enjoyed beach side omelette and maggie at the shacks of club curlie's.
This brings day 2 to summary.

*day3

This day started with all the spark as we packed bags for water sports , driving through NH-17b for almost 45 minutes we reached the Candolim beach and hired sun chairs from Jackson shack, this shack gave me the only single unwanted moment I would want to delete from my trip. We bought tickets for water sports , which was for ₹1300 per person. It included jet ski, para-sailing , bumper & banana ride. I loved the vast sea view from the parachute. Finishing it, I moved towards the toilet of our shack, guests of other shacks can't use toilets of each other (worst thing to realise). There wasn't any shower, so I washed my face and changed clothes in the loo which was smelling like crap. As soon as I came out, we asked for menu , i was really hungry by this time , there came a rude young man from same shack telling me to pay ₹200 as I had used water to wash off my face and hands , although my brother and his friends already had food from same place. We had a little quarrel and they formed a bevy . ( can't still believe they fought us over water ) . This is the only sorrowful part of our country that runs like a cancer in our blood . They all suddenly united as Goans , fought with us forgetting that we are Indians too. The most inevitable truth is, when ever things happen to us no one claims to be an INDIAN , we loose all the patriotism and brotherhood as soon as we finish watching India vs Pakistan cricket World Cup match . We then become Goans, punjabis, rajasthanis, Tamilians etc. ( I include myself too , no offense to any single individual in particular ) why can't we be one nation , though I try to be as humane to others as possible . We gave money and I requested my brother to move on ending the squabble .

As soon as we reached the Bagah beach (next destination) , it was just 15 minutes of time at the St. Anthony's shack we were as fresh as morning dew. The food was amazing. I sang ' what do you mean ' at the karaoke and we danced to the end of shore, till the tides reached their highest ebb .

*day4

This day was probably the best one! We had left for Doodh Sagar (sea of milks) at 8 a.m . 73kms from vasco , but the 2 hours drive was worthwhile. It is located in the Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary. 9kms prior to waterfall is the car parking and ticket counter ₹400 per person , after that we are driven by bolero car by their driver through the rocky red roads. One can also buy peanuts and bananas to feed monkeys and elephants inside.

Entry to the waterfall closes by 3:30 p.m. and one can stay at the destination only for 90 minutes as each group of visitors is given a car number which ushers them .
We then moved to vasco , i drove Thar again for two hours . Roads were twisting , wind gusting on , hills coming near and far everything was beautiful. Reaching back to upas nagar, vasco we took some rest and got ready for the Calangute beach . i shopped for some time at the beach side market . We had chinese food and went back to our apartment.

*day5

This day was slow and tiring, we went to Sagar Ratna restaurant at the Calangute, the view to beach was noisy but aesthetic .

We then drove to the vagator beach road where on the way we dined at the Mango tree restaurant . This was the best restaurant so far in goa. I loved the food especially italian dishes. Coming back we took a halt to enjoy the sunset view and capture few good pictures.

*day6

Day six was all about returning home, i was now missing home and delhi badly. This morning we returned the hired car back to owners and got back home for packing.

I really have to thank enough , to our care taker in goa. She made our stay real time fun, giving us all the comforts of a well groomed living zone.

also cant thank enough my cute better half,

Richa Nijhawan , without her efforts these blogs wont breathe to reality.

#FREEDOM UNDEFINED

This anecdote is all about my recent work .
why did i title it freedom undefined ?? i will elucidate it, after i end up delineating the process involved in coming up with this work of art.

at first, i bought four tile canvas mounts and arranged them for this horizontal view.

each tile measures 5cm X 7cm. After placing the tiles i started drawing with a pencil to make a rough composition. Using acrylic color shades vermilion hue & scarlet lake i started covering the base.

I made four butterflies in total , it came up as a good composition.

I used texture white to fill the boundaries of the frame using a spatula to spread it.
Finishing with the details of butterflies i started working on eyes and the face ,  using  a patchy application i finished the base.

how does it look?? it would be good if you guys write or comment about it.

Freedom Undefined, signifies to the very basic right of every individual to live life the way they intend it for themselves. Not shy of what ''they'' will think? not fearful of what if results aren't favorable? not answerable to ''them''.

Its not something just worth listing in our basic fundamentals, it is broader to the extent of every individual, every emotion.
Its all about, One life which we are not getting back like the morning sun . Love yourself unconditionally , to the extent you can live freely! and be open to the freedom of other individuals too.

LOVE
Priyanka .

#Be Stronger Than Your Excuses ♥️♥️

I blog about my lifestyle, just want my subscribers to connect with my routine chores. Another side of me, that I have delved in last three years is that I am addicted to strength training!
I had long hours of sit and work for years while painting and reading ,that lead to spine problems, I got over it completely by altering my routine a bit.
Eventually I am good enough to lift, and I actually enjoy training with weights. Today was my chest day at gym , so it is a good time to delineate i guess .

# Very first thing to start while work out is stretching , it's as crucial as base coat of a painting, inevitable I must say. I make sure to prepare my spine for a heavy fifty minute session. I try to do chakrasana at least thrice a week . 3months from now I couldn't even lift my elbows, see what practice does!

Haven't reached perfection though, but I am really close I guess. Also I use a foam roller to get a deep tissue massage , it loosens any tightness in muscles. In 15 minutes I finish with the stretching part which includes neck rotation, tricep strech, quadricep strech etc.

# Next move is 7-10 minutes of cardio, to warm up my body I generally walk on treadmill or use a cross trainer . If you warm up and strech aplenty, you will never feel tired during workout.

# Finally comes the intense part strength training, it's the best thing to do for bone density and muscle loss issues.
You are a man or a woman, after puberty you begin to loose one percent of bone and muscle strength every year! So why not just reverse it 😎
For chest exercise I start with bench press of which I do 4 x 15 , 4 sets of 15 reps each.

Following this I do incline dumbbell press, decline press, incline dumbbell fly and push ups to make it even more challenging.

#Last but not the least I end it with 15 -20 minutes of stretching to avoid any muscle tension.
Fitness is a lifestyle, a habbit, an addiction , which is now infused In me not to forget behind every success story there is a face, can't thank enough my friend and mentor Parveen Kumar who inspired me and gave me a detailed explanation of every single move.
I thought of sharing this picture from 2011 and now.  Love yourself , your body and inspire others too.

My writing would be worthwhile if it can inspire a single person to opt for a healthy living.

#PUNJAB-COAL-DEPOT feat. fashion & photography.

It was a perfect chilly winter afternoon,  i was at the outskirts of delhi (ghaziabad) to attend a cousin's wedding. The place i am writing about is really close to my heart i am still lost in reverie ,my childhood memories associate to it. Punjab Coal Depot , coal suppliers of the city! formed by my mommy's grandfather . This business is as old as independent India.

Being a child i used to visit the coal depot almost every vacation, meeting my nanaji (maternal grandfather), at his work . At the entrance was a huge weighing scale ,on each side of which me and my sister used to climb and play, the weighing scale doesn't seem any huge now  also it has been superceded by the digital one .
I could spend hours in the yard , climbing the heaps of coal. Even now i can spend hours at this place embracing the child in me. My sis and me decided to do a shoot, the place is full of beauty and it was captured by her aesthetic vision.
All the laborers gathered to see what beauty are we finding in the darkest formations of nature , but we did find some! We were there to attend a family wedding , no personal DSLR was available , it's unimaginable but all the pictures were captured by a smart phone.

do write to me how do you all find the clicks .

my look being a total contradiction to indian weddings, not compromising in comfort though is still worthy of a little description i guess.
